Murray Beith Murray’s expertise as a private client law firm has been recognised in The Legal 500 UK 2023 listings published this week.

The Legal 500 ranks the UK’s best law firms through independent research and distinguishes Murray Beith Murray as a Tier 2 legal practice for ‘Personal tax, trusts and executries’, ‘Contentious trusts and probate’ and ‘Agriculture and Estates’, one of the few Scottish private client law firms to be recognised in the top two tiers for all three of those core practice areas.

Client and peer feedback gathered by The Legal 500 recognises that the firm’s multi-disciplinary ‘one-stop shop’ provides ‘absolute excellence in trust and tax work’ for asset protection and succession planning; ‘the team excels in high-value, often cross-border trust litigation and contentious probate matters’; and the ‘long-established presence in the agricultural sector’ which ‘works in tandem with (Murray Beith Murray’s) wider private client group’.

Senior Partner, Ruthven Gemmell and Head of Rural, Andrew Linehan rank as Leading Individuals, two of only a handful of lawyers recognised in this way. Partners Hugh Younger, Peter Shand and Andrew Paterson rank as Recommended Lawyers; together with all three Asset Protection Associates, Sophie Napier, Fraser Scott, Kathryn Johnston, and Rural Senior Solicitor, Anna MacLeod.
