Carol McGovern has been specialising in private client work for over 30 years and over the last 15 years has focused mainly on executry administration and related trust work. Carol and other members of the Murray Beith Murray executry team have helped many families through the difficult period following bereavement, providing a personal service, adapted to the specific needs of the individual clients who seek the firm’s help.
Carol lectured for many years for Solas, helping paralegals, trainee solicitors and other interested parties learn about executry administration work prior to them sitting the related examination and giving guidance on both practical and technical issues.
Areas of work:
Carol can adapt to the different types of Estates that are encountered, whether different family situations or different types of estate assets. No two Estates are the same. The firm provide a full range of executry services both for those that die with or without a Will.
The services offered to complete an estate administration often includes a mixture of legal advice, financial/tax computations and accounting work, cash management, liaising with executors and beneficiaries as well as the Court/HM Revenue and Customs and more general form filing/ administration work. The knowledge built up over the years helps Carol explain the processes required to clients in a way that is helpful at what is often a most difficult time.
Carol also becomes involved in the set-up and wind-up of trusts related to clients who have died, whether the deceased had an interest in one or more trusts or their Will sets up new trusts.
In her spare time, Carol enjoys performing in musical theatre productions and taking regular dance classes.
